Discover the north of the Netherlands by motorhome

As a motorhome driver, have you seen little of the north of the Netherlands, except perhaps the highway, 'fast forward' to Germany? Then you have missed a lot of beauty and interest.

Be surprised by the north of the Netherlands. No area in the Netherlands has as much variation in landscapes as you will find in Drenthe, Groningen and in Friesland.

The landscape varies from grand and infinitely seeming vast, to intimate, and wooded. You can drive along coastal areas with views of the Wadden Sea, the Dollard and along beautiful lakes.

The roads are often straight, but much more often winding along old dykes through an ancient landscape. Perhaps most colourful are the vast fields that change colour every season. Farms like castles are testimonies to the great riches of yesteryear.

From mysterious forests surrounded by moors, you pass through beautiful villages and historic towns along the way.

In the north, you can still discover places where there is (almost) no one, with very far in the distance a farming village or the steeple of a medieval church.

It is known from motorhome enthusiasts that many of them really enjoy visiting UNESCO sites, in the region they go to. That works out nicely! Did you know that the north has a treasure trove of as many as FIVE(!) UNESCO sites?

Fantastic walking and cycling routes as well as so many places to eat delicious food will complete your road trip through the north.
