The region of North-East Friesland is an eldorado for people who appreciate peace and quiet, sea views and nature, and special history. These are exactly the elements that make us feel at home. In NO-Friesland, it's all there for the taking in the unique landscape. In our route Wad and Land we have brought it all together.

You travel along the Wadden dyke, where you are invited to climb up the dyke in all sorts of places. The sensation of the Wadden Sea, with the salt marshes, the many bird species, the sheep on the dike, you never tire of it, and at every spot it is different.

The Frisian hinterland with its historical villages and churches in the middle of the mounds also charms everyone. You will also discover beautiful places and stories of these during the route.

Start the day with coffee/tea and sweets on the pier of Holwerd, enjoy a delicious lunch en route, and we will give you tips for other addresses for good drinks and food, and other excursions.

Day package Frisian Wadden Sea coast of NO-Friesland

On the date you booked, drive to the start of the Wad and Land route. That is on the pier of Holwerd, from where the ferry to Ameland departs. Nothing like having a nice cup of coffee/tea with a delicious piece of cake there first, and looking out over the Wadden Sea. (Unless otherwise indicated when booking).

From the pier, the route starts, taking you through a beautiful part of the former port town of Holwerd, and then further along the Wadden coast. The itinerary gives you the choice of how long you want to make the route yourself in one day. If you go for the whole route, you will pass through some authentic, heart-warming fishing villages named Wierum, Moddergat and Paesens. The views from the Wadden dyke there are stunning. It is even possible to walk a bit onto the mud flats (over a former stretch of dike)

The route continues through the Frisian hinterland, passing through one historic terp village after another, before returning to the Wadden dike. Be amazed by the various expressions of art, special buildings and objects and unique stories of that part of the Wadden coast.

The route strings together one highlight after another, ending at the highest point, which is the highest mound in NW Europe, the mound Hegebeintum. At the visitor centre, you can "recover" from all the beauty you have seen and experienced.

Travel date: can be booked all year round.

Travel price: €43.75 p.p. (based on two people minimum). Extra persons € 31.00 p.p.

Not included: other meals and drinks * entrance tickets * parking costs for own car * cost of refuelling/charging the car * other personal expenses.

Conditions

Booking and payment: After booking, you will receive a confirmation from us and also the invoice. The booking is final when payment is received in full.

Cancellation: If you cancel the booking, the payment will not be refunded.

A new date can be fixed by mutual agreement.

If a cancellation is within 7 days of the booking date, only the booking as far as the itinerary is concerned can be moved. The catering components will have to be paid for again if you wish to book them on a new date.
