Part of the two-day package is the car puzzle tour Midden-Groningen. During this trip, you will discover places, hear stories about what has become famous throughout the Netherlands, and worldwide. This trip is not about the gas bubble under Slochteren, but about much more fun topics, such as:

Day 1; Central Groningen two-day package

This tour starts in Veendam and ends on the shores of the idyllic Schildmeer.

The tour starts in the characteristic moorland. The beautiful farms, the canals, the many pretty bridges, the villages bear witness to a glorious past.

Further south and north of the A7, the route winds through numerous memorable and picturesque places. These include Sappemeer, Noord- and Zuidbroek, Hellum, Woudbloem.

Before ending up in the Roegwold, or rugged swamp forest. Here, more than a thousand hectares of farmland were given back to nature at the beginning of this century. Going through it is a feast for the eyes. A must is walking on water; on the Knuppelpad across Lake Dannemeer.

From the Roegwold, it is not far to the Schildmeer. On the way, you won't have the most captivating landscape, but you do drive past Europe's largest giant racer and past the farm of the high-profile TV series Hollands Hoop.

The architect-designed, newly built restaurant Kaap Steendam is beautifully situated on the Schildmeer. This is the final location of the car puzzle tour. With nice weather, it is a treat to sit on the waterside terrace and have a drink. This is also highly recommended for dinner.

Where you can stop for coffee and lunch along the way will be announced in advance.

Before or after dinner, you will drive to your hotel or B&B where you can spend the night in comfort. Time for check-in and other details will be sent with the booking confirmation.

Day 2: Central Groningen, two-day package

Day 2 starts off rested with a delicious breakfast.

After checking out, this day is yours to fill in.

Included: LocalGroningen route 'Central Groningen' * 1x coffee/tea with cake * 1x lunch (package) * 1x overnight stay + breakfast * booking and administration fee.

Not included: other meals and drinks * entrance tickets * parking costs for own car * cost of refuelling/charging the car * other personal expenses.

Accommodation: you stay overnight in a charming regional hotel or special B&B in the nearby region from where the 'Midden-Groningen' route has been mapped out.

If you have special wishes, feel free to let us know. We will do our best to fulfil your wishes. If there are extra costs involved, we will coordinate with you in advance.

Conditions

Booking and payment: After booking, you will receive a confirmation from us and also the invoice. A deposit of at least 50% of the total travel sum is due within 3 days of sending the travel confirmation. The remaining amount is due no later than 4 weeks before the booking date.

If the trip is booked within 4 weeks of departure, the entire travel sum is payable at once.

Cancellation: If you cancel the booking, the following cancellation fees are due:-

within 42 days up to 30 days before the day of departure: 40% of the travel sum
within 30 days up to 7 days before the day of departure: 75% of the travel sum
within 7 days before departure: 100%.
