Day 1: Weekend in Drenthe - UNESCO - Global Geopark Hondsrug and Hunzedal

On the date you booked, drive to the starting location of the route "Hondsrug and Hunzedal", in Eext.

There - before you start the route - you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with a delicacy. Upon confirmation of the route, you will receive the address where lunch is planned that day.

The route takes you through the fascinating region with pre-historic finds, along winding roads and through esdorpen with historical Saxon farmhouses. Soak up nature in the forests, on the moors and dream away by a meandering river. During the route, we will tell you all about the dolmens and the origins of this unique area.

Along the way, you are sure to find some nice locations for some refreshments.

For dinner, we give you some tips for excellent restaurants.

Before or after dinner, drive to your hotel or B&B where you can spend the night in comfort. Time for check-in and other details will be provided at the time of booking.

Day 2: Weekend in Drenthe - UNESCO Global Geopark Hondsrug and Hunzedal

Day 2 starts off rested with a delicious breakfast.

After checking out, this day is yours to fill in.

Some suggestions:

- A visit to the Hunebed Centre in Borger is highly recommended

- Take a walk on the sand dunes at Drouwenerzand

- Rent a bike from the accommodation and take a nice bike ride. Drenthe is known as the ideal province for cycling.

- The city of Groningen is nearby; for a day trip it is always a success.

- Ask at the accommodation for special tips. They will be happy to advise you.

Can't get enough after one night's stay? We can well imagine. Booking an extra night is always possible.

Travel date: can be booked all year round.

Travel price: € 159.00 per person. (based on two people minimum). Additional persons surcharge € .... pp.

Included: LocalDrente route 'Hondsrug and Hunzedal' * 1x coffee/tea with cake * 1x lunch (packed) * 1x overnight stay + breakfast * booking and administration fee.

Not included: other meals and drinks * entrance tickets to Kolonie van Weldadigheid museum * parking costs for own car * cost of refuelling/recharging the car * other personal expenses.

Accommodation: you will stay overnight in an attractive regional hotel or comfortable B&B in the nearby region from where the route 'Hondsrug and Hunzedal' is mapped out. If you have special wishes, feel free to let us know. We will do our best to fulfil your wishes. If they involve extra costs, we will coordinate with you in advance.

Conditions

Booking and payment After booking, you will receive a confirmation from us and also the invoice. A down payment of at least 50% of the total travel sum is due within 3 days after sending the travel confirmation. The remaining amount is due no later than 4 weeks before the booking date.

If the trip is booked within 4 weeks of departure, the entire travel sum is payable at once.

Cancellation If you cancel the booking, the following cancellation fees are due:-

from 42 days up to 30 days before the day of departure: 40% of the travel sum
from 30 days up to 7 days before the day of departure: 75% of the travel sum
from 7 days before departure: 100%.
